First thing first, paint color

The first thing in this renovation that is important and will set the mood and tone of the whole space is picking the right color for the walls. I want my home to feel clean and bright. The gray color that was in prior wasn't working for me. First, it was too masculine and cast a darker shade for the house.
Thought it would be easy to just pick white, but oh boy, you learn at the paint shop that there are 50 shades of white lol. I was gravitated to the really bright white (almost no yellow) like Extra White or Alabaster from Sherwin Williams. But then, knowing the wood floor and the rustic look that the floor would give, I knew I had to add a little warmth to it, so I picked Creamy and Shoji White to try.
I painted all the samples on different walls, close to trimming, and checked the room at different times to see how the lighting affects the color throughout the day. It was quite a process, and I thought to myself, wow, this is only the beginning of the renovation, and it proves to be already challenging.
Finally, Shoji White became the winner for me. It gives the clean and crisp look while adding a bit of a warmer tone to the space. I love looking at my wall, especially at sunset. The space is quite magical and gives me the confidence that this renovation journey will be a fun one. :)
